The EU BUDGET is negotiated for periods of 7 years, currently corresponding to the period 2014-2020. Each 7 years allocation is called Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). The budget approved for this MFF 2014-2020 period is \u20ac1.082 billion.<\/p>

The 2018 EU budget is set at \u20ac160 billion, while \u20ac163 billion and \u20ac168 billion are expected for 2019 and 2020.\u00a0<\/p>

    Europe has 5 European Structural & Investment Funds (ESI Funds), which\u00a0<\/span>are the main Europe investment tool, with 454 billion euros allocated in 535 programmes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    The EU Cohesion Policy\u00a0<\/span>is part of the ESI Funds, and for the period<\/span>\u00a02014-2020 is goes over 1\/3 of the EU budget<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    There are 5\u00a0<\/span>European Structural & Investment Funds (ESI Funds)<\/span><\/strong>, and 3 of them correspond to the Cohesion Policy:<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    European Regional Development Fund<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(ERDF) \u2013 regional and urban development<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    European Social Fund<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0(ESF) \u2013 social inclusion and good governance<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    Cohesion Policy<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0is used to reduce disparities in the development of the EU regions.<\/p>

    The article 174 Treaty of Lisbon (2010) defines the Cohesion concept: \u201cthe Union shall develop and pursue its actions leading to the strengthening of its economic, social and territorial cohesion. In particular, the Union shall aim at reducing disparities between the levels of development of the various regions and the backwardness of the least favoured regions\u2018.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
